Table for two?
Lady and the Tramp inspire program for Valentine's Day at the Beer Museum
Disney's iconic film is the motto for a toast to adventure, the unexpected and much to come. Because a toast is worth a thousand words.
“Lady and the Tramp” is a Disney animation classic released in 1955 that tells the story of an unlikely love between a purebred dog and a stray dog. In the film’s best-known scene, the two share a string of spaghetti in a romanticized image that does not need narration.
This was the moment that inspired Beer Museum to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the most passionate and universal drink, beer. Among toasts that celebrate life, the restaurant recreated the iconic scene with humor and a touch of romanticism.
Located in Terreiro do Paço with the Tagus as a backdrop, the scene is set for the 14th February to multiple special moments. Whether for lunch or dinner, on this day the restaurant offers a special program for those who reserve a table for two. The meal includes a free visit to the Museum, on the first floor of the restaurant, which tells the story of beer over 7000 years, starting with the development of the drink in monastic cellars, its boom with pasteurization and the advances promoted by the Industrial Revolution and finally an invitation to a journey through a route of Portuguese craft beers. At the end, lovers – between themselves and a beer – are invited to a beer tasting, which is included in the program.
If you also want to recreate the scene, the stewed oxtail with tagliatelle, mushrooms and spinach is the suggestion of the Beer Museum, but be sure to share a starter for two, like the beer woodpecker or the seaweed tuna ceviche, avocado and melon, holding hands with shrimp curry with fragrant rice. In the end, fall in love with the pear with cheese and walnuts and try a sponge cake with Serra da Estrela PDO cheese to rekindle the flame.
