In Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau (Portuguese House of Codfish Cakes) we want to get the land closer to the sea, the Interior to the Coastline. The codfish comes from the sea, and it has for long been fished in remote seas by Portuguese navigators. Cheese from Serra da Estrela comes from the land and is considered by many as the best cheese in the world.
Hence we bring, from the roots of our past, the flavours and memories that build our present: Codfish Cake with Cheese from Serra da Estrela.
Since 2015 in Rua Augusta, in Lisbon, this is already one of the most popular products of Portuguese gastronomy.
The success in Lisbon made it inevitable to broaden horizons in this project. The first step of that expansion was the opening in the city of Porto, near the Clérigos Tower.
We celebrated such important step toasting the Cheese from Serra da Estrela and the Codfish Cake with… Port Wine. To the combination of the three wonders we called “Portugal Experience” and, since then, we challenge those visiting us to feel the taste of Portugal in only 60 seconds.
